How To Get There

By Train

Kilkenny is serviced by direct trains on the Dublin to Waterford line. (http://www.irishrail.ie/your_journey/printed_timetable_pdfs/2010/Dublin%20Waterford%2010.pdf) The train station is a fifteen minute walk from the con hotel and is well catered to by taxis.

By Bus

Kilkenny is also on the number 7 Bus Éireann Expressway Coach Service route from Dublin to Cork (http://www.buseireann.ie/inner.php?id=237). This route stops and picks up on St Patrick Street (around the corner from the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel).

By Google Maps

Kilkenny is well serviced by Google Maps, despite the fact that the name of the convention venue seems to have gone oriental. Google Maps is just a single click away on your computer or a frustrating slow 12 seconds away from your sexy overpriced 3G-enabled smartphone. Don’t forget, the blue squigly line is not a road.

By Hitchhiking

Road vehicles have been known to enter Kilkenny. Ensure your collectable minatures are well-padded in your backpack, stand on the side of a road, face yourself in the opposite direction to Kilkenny, show off some cleavage and wink at passing motorists.

By Skateboard

Kilkenny – the city of overgrown bullies that need to be tricked into crashing into manure trucks. When you realise that you are going to be late for the convention, stick your Huey Lewis cassette into your Walkman, roll out of your driveway and latch on to any vehicle that helpfully slows down for you. This random chaotic way of transport is known to be an effective solution to the Travelling Salesman Problem. Possibly.
